Brutal death metal titans DISENTOMB will unleash their newest masterpiece and third record The Decaying Light this Friday via Unique Leader Records. In advance of the release the group are currently streaming the album in full at Metal Injection who commented, “If you’re looking for some really bleak, brutal, and heavy as hell tech-death, there are very few groups playing it at the elite level Disentomb have achieved yet again with The Decaying Light.”
The Decaying Light is the follow up to DISENTOMB‘s legendary 2014 album Misery and contains 13 slabs of unique, powerful, and devastatingly extreme death metal. Undoubtedly the group’s magnum opus, No Clean Singing said of the album “There’s not a single dull moment as they stay constantly in motion, maintaining a firm grip on the listener’s attention from second to second, and further establishing a signature sound…” and Heavy Blog Is Heavy describing it as “…a smothering blanket of deviant sound.”
Guitars for The Decaying Light were tracked by band guitarist Jake Wilkes, drums and bass were recorded by Joe Haley (Psycroptic), and vocals were tracked by Dan Field at Sledgehammer Studios. Mixing and reamping for the effort were done by DISENTOMB bassist Adrian Cappelletti, and mastering was done by Colin Davis at Imperial Mastering (Deeds of Flesh, Devourment).
Artwork for The Decaying Light comes from the incredible Nick Keller with the layout and design coming from Steve Crow of Condemned.

In the 10th year since conception, DISENTOMB has emerged as one of the most unique and dynamic bands in modern Death Metal. The Brutal Death Metal band has forged a completely unique sound, combining frenetic blasting brutality and bleakened dissonance into a force that sounds like no other. Their long-awaited third album The Decaying Light features 13 tracks of doomed out brutality, undoubtedly their most accomplished work to date.
First bursting onto the international touring scene with their debut Sunken Chambers of Nephilim (2010) and sophomore album Misery (2014) DISENTOMB has solidified themselves at heavyweights of the genre playing hundreds of shows throughout Europe, the United States and Asia alongside some of the biggest acts in Death Metal.
With new material and a sharpened live show, the four-piece will take their high-energy and visceral performance to five Australian cities in July to showcase a new era in a band that has cemented themselves as a band not to miss.
